Sonrise Academy as a private Christian school exists to provide the spiritual, as well as the mental, physical, and social development of the youth of the community. This development of the total personality is designed to enable students to function more capably within the community. Every school community is interrelated within other communities and is a part of larger communities, particularly the State and the Nation. As a Christian school, Sonrise Academy has a specific philosophy which is rooted in its articles of faith which must be held separate from and above that of the State and National education system.

Sonrise Academy’s Articles of Faith are as follows:

I.                    The Bible is the wholly inspired Word of God, and it is a sufficient rule of faith and practices;

II.                 God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and the source of all truth. God maintains control over his entire universe;

III.               There is one God eternally existing and manifesting Himself to us in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit;

IV.              The Lord Jesus is the Son of God who was born of a virgin. His atoning and substitutionary death upon the cross redeemed us from our sins. His bodily resurrection and ascension to Heaven and His personal return produces the hope of eternal life;

V.                 The Holy Spirit is a distinct personality and is the member of the Trinity who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment;

VI.              Because of sin, man omits God and thus fails to relate himself and his knowledge to God, the source of all wisdom;

VII.            Regeneration is by faith in Jesus Christ and is absolutely necessary to salvation. True meanings and values can be ascertained only in the light of His person, purpose, and work;

VIII.         The dead are to be resurrected – the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to everlasting punishment;

IX.              All true believers have spiritual unity in Christ, irrespective of denomination;

X.                 Growth in the Christian life depends upon fellowship with God and with other believers through study of the Bible, prayer, and service.

ATTENDING OUR SCHOOL DOES NOT NECESSARILY DENOTE FULL AGREEMENT WITH SONRISE ACADEMY’S ARTICLE S OF FAITH, BUT RATHER BEING WILLING TO ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTION BASED ON THOSE ARTICLES OF FAITH.
